BEST QUOTES AND LISTENING
Equal to a good picture is a good quote. Starting in 2004 I dedicated a leather journal to be the Quote Hall of Fame. I realize I have been a bit stingy but in 4 years only nine quotes have been inducted. Here is a sample:
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life..." ~Henry David Thoreau
"Yes" ~Author Unknown
(before you mock this - say it over and over out loud - it's bold and sweet... not like it's half cousin "ya" and certainly very much unlike it's nemesis "no")
"Do not easily leave" ~Abba Anthony
"The end of one thing is the beginning of another. I am a pilgrim again." ~Yuchiro Miura
Earth's crammed with Heaven, And every common bush afire with God. But only he who sees takes off his shoes, the rest sit around it and pluck blackberries." ~ Elizabeth Barret Browning
These are my three little business partners. The oldest approached me about raking my leaves (for profit). While we were negotiating, his younger sister kept trying to get him to ask for more. He made it clear to her that she was not the business man he was. I laughed to myself, because if only he would listen -he would be better off.
Okay, okay.... I'm learning the lesson.

Like they say, "Behind every good man, is a good woman.":)Just ask Ron O.
I believe it. :)
This weekend at Camp Au Sable I heard two quotations that I thought were simple yet profound.
"The blessing is in the 'Go'!"
"Speak, so I can know you!"
Another favorite I have in a file called "Inspirational quotations" is by the missionary Adoniram Judson:
"The future is as bright as the promises of God."
I had to laugh when I read of your business deal, reminds me of Contracts I.
Well I really like the leather journal idea though I'm presently confined to a Word document of 17 pages. :( I really like that Thoreau quote. Oh to be able to go to the woods! Ah well, we each have a task.
"No horse gets anywhere till he is harnessed.
No steam or gas ever drives anything until it is confined.
No Niagara is ever turned into light and power until it is tunneled.
No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated, disciplined."
-Harry E. Fosdick
"Aspire to inspire before you expire."

Believe it or not my favorite of your quotes is "Yes". Being the mother of three girls I don't get a chance to say that very often :)
However if I had to choose a one word quote I like the best I think it would have to be "Listen". Took me quite a while to utilize that one :) What a blessing it is!
